Logo Design Brief

I need a modern logo to represent a Speech Pathology Service for children with difficulties communicating. I'd prefer uncomplicated, easy to read.
We work with children up to 18years, so I don't want it to appear childish - more professional. I have a preference for blue, but open to all suggestions of colour. Needs to be printed on white paper as well as on black clothing.
