Graphic Design Brief

This image is the first of a number of images required for a kids book. The book will have a total of seven illustrations required for the book, but this one is a sample to find an artist to work with.

The image should be of a teddy bear dressed in a pilot’s uniform standing in front of his aircraft. The bear should be wearing:
• black shoes
• dark blue trousers
• a dark blue jacket with four gold bands around the cuffs
• A white shirt and dark blue tie
• A blue captains hat with gold wings

The aircraft in the background should be facing the artist at an angle so that the front, cockpit is visible but also so that the side of the aircraft should be visible with 5 or 6 oversized windows (large enough to have character’s faces in them late in the story. The tail plane of the aircraft should have a picture of the bear’s face as the airline insignia. The aircraft should be white but the jet under each wing should be a different colour, either blue or red, depending on the artist’s view.

• The story in the book will be set in a tropical island - there should be some palm trees in the background and perhaps an aircraft taking off in the distance.
