Logo Design Brief

This is a logo for an open source software project which is in its final stages of completion. It’s name is DC EMV. I decided to associate the project with an environmental issue I feel strongly about. The DC stands for Dead Coral. See https://www.chasingcoral.com The EMV is a card payment standard which is what the software implements. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMV For the logo I envision a simple line drawing of Poseidon shedding a tear, maybe a broken trident, although I’m open to any design that relates to the concept. The logo should be subtle, I’m not looking for something depressing even though the issue its trying to highlight is highly depressing. If the logo design works out, I will want a complete look and feel for a website as well as the GitHub site. T shirt designs will be needed as well.
