Logo Design Brief
Bess the Book Bus is a mobile literacy outreach in Tampa, FL that focuses on getting books into the homes of underprivileged and underrepresented children and families. Bess works with Title 1 (low performing) schools as well as after care and youth programs to deliver enrichment programs and conduct book giveaways.
Bess also has a national component and travels across the United States providing its services to under served communities.
Bess is a 501 3c non-profit and is in need of a logo that will boost its visual identity to drive improved corporate sponsor participation and also serve as a visual identifier in public relations and media coverage.
The logo will be used across multiple media: online, printed material, t-shirts, banners, etc. We need to have a logo that is adaptable for use in full color, 4 color and black and white.
We would like to receive a logo that depicts the vibrancy of the Bus and the opportunity it provides for creativity, discovery and achievement to children aged 3 - 18. The motto for Bess is "Explore the World Cover to Cover".

Must have
- Need it to be a better version/vision of the existing logo (attached). Needs to be more professional to appeal to both prospective donors and kids.
Should not have
- We're pretty open minded but want to appeal to a corporate audience with the logo as our primary use is to build a brand image that they can identify and feel comfortable with. The book bus itself appeals to kids. The current logo is a little unrefined. ,We would like to avoid anything that looks too cartoonish or childish, but hope to maintain the current logo's playful appeal. It should strike a balance between the energy and hope the bus provides while catching the attention of the corporate environment.
