Logo Design Brief

The Yancey County Economic Development Commission needs a new logo. The Yancey EDC is a governmental business and economic recruitment agency located in Yancey County, a rural county in western North Carolina. We are home to Mt. Mitchell, the highest mountain peak on the eastern seaboard and travel and tourism is a large component of our economy, in addition to advanced manufacturing facilities. We are also the only county in North Carolina that offers 1 gig broadband fiber service to the entire county area. We would like a logo which would feature a mountain or mountains in some aspect to play off of our unique geography and tourism economy, but also a logo that is fairly modern and cutting edge, focusing on our emphasis on advanced manufacturing and high speed fiber internet service. The logo should communicate a rural, but technologically advanced community to do business in. A copy of our former logo is attached below.
