Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new non-profit called the Seattle Tennis & Education Foundation. We will also be using the acronym STEF. We are creating a program where we will start with young students and stay with them for their entire school career providing tennis and fitness instruction, mentoring, and tutoring. Our educational enrichment will focus on life skills, nutrition, health, fitness as well as reading and math. We aim for 100% of our students to graduate from high school and to pursue a college or technical degree. We will be offering free tuition and equipment and will be serving at-risk, low income children in the south and southeast neighborhoods of Seattle which have high minority populations. We will also provide support and resources to parents and one of our goals is to strengthen families and entire communities. We will focus on character-building and sportsmanship, being part of a team, setting goals and giving back to our communities. We would like a design that has fresh and clean lines but communicates tennis, activity, learning or education, youth, family support and fun. We are all about helping kids so it should somehow relate that we are helping kids ages 6-17. However, we don't want it to look too young (preschool is too young). It should also be fun and hip. Something that appeals to diverse ethnicities, cultures or has a multi-cultural aspect would be a plus It would also be interesting to see designs that include a space needle reference but not required. Shades of blue and green are very big in Seattle due to being close to water and the mountains so something in this color scheme might be helpful but not required.

Target Market(s)

Under-served, at-risk, low income, minority children and their parents. Community organizations who are established and also serve these same groups as possible partners. Affluent donors who are enthusiastic about helping underprivileged youth. Tennis players both recreational and more serious players who would donate to a cause that helps children in need. Affluent donors who would donate to a cause that helps educate and support children. Logo needs to appeal to youth for our tennis, education, and fun factor but also appeal to 35+ age group for a donation basis.
