I`m not participating in this contest, so you can be sure, what I`m writing here is simply a true reaction to your book...... There are many so-called writers around here who haven`t even mastered writing in general - a real shame for today`s overall intellect. You, on the other side, found a way to capture reader`s attention while giving him a good laugh. Kudos for you! I hope that more people will find your book just as entertaining, so it becomes a best-seller. And by the way, I fully agree: pain, even though unsought, feared, unwanted, it really is one of man's only true friends - one who, just like the mirror, is there to help visualize reality and truth, and help developing one`s personality.......................................just a one man's opinion :-)

What if..I feel bad about being selfish? I am aware that Guilt is a modern construction. But for example, in my experience, I´ve been bullied and manipulated in many ways since I was a child. I´d hate myself to become selfish (I surely am already without noticing because of other´s realities, perceptions,etc). I oftenly say to myself, I rather keep being smashed, than being an asshole....I´m suffering, oh yes...but that´s being alive, to me.
Sometimes I compare ¨selfish¨and ¨non-selfish¨people with dogs that have been hurt or bad treated, and you can find both kind of dogs, the immensely tender loving and shy dogs, or violent , raging ¨bad¨dogs, both as a result of mistreating....

I´m glad you found that balance and congrats for your book. I´ll try to work on a proposal :)
