Logo Design Brief

I'm looking for a logo to be created that best and cleanly embodies some of the non-profit organization's characteristics such as:

Pulling together/Unity
African Centered Education
Cultural & Economic Development

-I would like to have the colors if any to include red, black.
-I would like an "HI" to be a central focus of the logo.
-I would like to have the logo represent connectedness amongst people so maybe a couple stick figure people holding hands surrounding the logo.
-There is an adinkra symbol that represents unity/connectedness called "nkonsonkonson" that could be integrated.
-I'd also like to have "Est. 1972" somewhere.

These are just some of the ideas that I had. You can take any of these or all of these or a couple of these ideas and put your own creative spin on it to create something better than I have even imagined.

• I am attaching a pic of what I tried on my own. The symbol at the top represents 'connectedness', its a chain link. So I tried to create an arc of unity of people. It doesnt need to be alot of people like mine though.
• Again you can use all of these ideas, or some, but if you can create a different concept that embodies this vision I am open to that too. I am limited on my graphic design creativity.
