Logo Design Brief

We are seeking the design of a logo design for a startup ecommerce pet accessories company. The logo will be printed on all of the products, so it’s important that the mark can work on the products themselves as well as on web and social. We would like a logo with both a symbol and type treatment, and eventually would like the symbol to be strong enough to be used without the word mark.

Because the logo will be printed on the products, please keep in mind it should be simple and be able to work well in a 2-color application without special effects such as gradients, etc.

Women and men 25+

The audience skews somewhat more female than male, but the logo should appeal to both genders and can be cute but not too feminine.

Requirements

Must have

• Symbol or icon and wordmark
• Simple, modern, iconic, playful but not too 'cutesy'
• Representation of more than one animal
• Able to print in 2-color on products - i.e. simple, without gradients
• Be able to use the icon easily in social media profiles at a small size

Nice to have

• We like the idea of including at least two animals in the logo, the obvious being dog / cat but are open to other ideas.
• We also like the idea of playing with negative space to represent the animal concept, such as in the attached Bones (orange B) and Coco marks.

Should not have

• Too feminine
• Too cute or child-like
