Logo Design Brief

Since opening, Jungle Bay Resort & Spa has grown to become one of the top rustic luxury eco-resorts in the world and we would like to update the logo to brand ourselves more accurately. Homepage: www.junglebaydominica.com
Our clients tell us that existing logo and website are antiquated and portray a lower quality property than what we actually offer. Some aspects of the shadowing and font type in the existing logo do not reflecting the tourism product as best as they could.

Our goal with this contest is to get a design for a more up to date logo that will attract our target market better. See attached existing logo.


NOTE: the website and marketing collateral will also be redesigned and updated after the upgrade of the logo. The logo will be used in electronic and print marketing as well as on staff shirts and promotional materials.

Jungle Bay is an award-winning nature-based adventure and wellness tourism eco-friendly resort that opened in 2005, and since then has earned numerous accolades. These include Forbes Traveler “Top 10 Luxury EcoResort”, New York Times “Rustic Luxe” and others. Travelers can experience an off-the-beaten-path holiday by hiking to hidden waterfalls, hiking the jungle, snorkeling, etc but come back to the resort for great cuisine, a daily massage or other spa treatment, and relax in a wonderful cottage with hot shower and comfortable bed while still being in nature. The clients are somewhat affluent as the cost to fly to Dominica and stay at the resort are a little above the average cost of a discount sun and sand Caribbean vacations. Many are baby boomers and if they are younger they are often coming for a special romantic vacation such as a wedding, honeymoon, celebration or yoga & spa adventure holiday.

Requirements
Must have
  • -a more stylized and luxurious feeling logo, with refined colors, while sill retaining the palm tree, the jungle feel and the general layout of the existing logo.

    -to update the colors. The green in the logo can be made to a more ‘earthy’ color and the red can be changed to an earthy brown, blue or some of the colors from the existing website design. Please provide us with a variety of color options.
    -A font or customized text that is more luxurious while still representing the jungle and natural elements of Jungle Bay Resort.
    -to try and ensure that the Dominica W.I. text is a little more clear to read when the logo is small.


Should not have
  • We do NOT want: a full redesign of the logo. We have worked hard to brand the resort so we are interested in keeping the main elements of the logo but simply want to refine the font, the shadowing and the colors.
