Logo Design Brief
We are reviving a brass band in our local community - it was in existence from 1937, had some ups and downs then petered out in the 1980's. For the 'new' band we hoping for a log that represents some of the bands heritage but is simple and contemporary.
The logo will be used online, in marketing material, on stand banners, neck ties and uniforms (part of the reason it needs to be clear and simple so it can be stitched!)
The old band used to be sponsored by Watney brewery and used the 'red barrel' logo (attached) use of this or hops / barley could show the history of that association (we have permission to use the red barrel) and to date we have been using Palatino Linotype font. Neither of these are a must have and we do not have any colour preferences. Also attached is the coat of arms for Richmond upon Thames, if it sparks anything. You can also see the current website here: http://richmondbrassband.com
Target Market(s)
We are a non-profit community group so it's wide ranging but ultimately there will be a lot of 30-60 year olds as family groups.

Requirements
Nice to have
- Nice to have some nod to the former band (watney silver band as it was known) and the brewery but this is just for heritage reasons, not a must have. Nice to have a link to the borough of Richmond upon Thames but again, not required.
Should not have
- As the log will be emblazoned on neck ties and suit jackets for performance it should not have more than 2 or 3 colours and the design must not be complicated, otherwise it will not be effective when stitched.
