Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a professional company logo to brand our business, we are an expanding business working in the Australian Construction market providing blue and white collar labour to major infrastructure, mining and oil and gas projects.
The company ethos is about providing solutions for our clients and helping to keep things moving forward (we do not look to present just a problem). The name comprises the capital letters from our surnames Caplice - O'Neill - Glew, this in mind COG or Caplice - O'Neill - Glew need to be part of the design, we will consider both at this stage and make a decsion later. We have considered a mechanical gear Cog as a metaphor for us keeping our clients moving forward.
Blue (light and dark contrasting) would be a favourable / safe colour, but again we would look at all designs to see what really jumps out at us.
