Logo Design Brief

Design a logo for a trucking company (hauling oil) and mechanic shop. www.jacknifeoilfield.com. We would like to rebrand as "Jacknife" and we offer 1) "oilfield services" and 2) "mechanical repair". This should be noted in the logo perhaps.

I want the emphasis to be on the word "Jacknife" and I would like a clean, creative, minimalist logo. I've attached our current logo - but I don't like it (Newest Logo file attached). I would like to be able to use the logo on it's own and I would also like to have the option to incorporate the words "oilfield services" and "mechanical repair" below/to the side. If people see our logo I want them to know it is us. When they read the text - they will know our services.


I have 2 ideas, but this project is not limited to these:

1) The front of a Peterbilt truck - see picture 1 attached. Do something with this.

2) Combine the clean logo found in Picture 2 with an idea of Picture 3. Picture 2 is another company's logo that I like - it is a Jack Knife. Picture 3 is a Metis sash which shows our aboriginal heritage. Combining these ideas somehow will result in a clean logo with our aboriginal Metis heritage in there.
