Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for our informational website which is focused on delivering a message on Animal Care across pets, farm animals, feral animals, and wild animals. The site will publish regular articles on issues in animal welfare as well as regular columns from invited authors. The site will be based in Australia but should have an international feel as we shall be seeking support from various organisations from around the world.

About Animalcare101
Animalcare101 is a profit oriented website promoting animal care in all areas, including pets, farm animals, feral animals and wild animals. Animalcare101 will not compete with other agencies, but will use its influences to promote any organisation that cares for animals. Animalcare101 will publish and republish articles authorised from animal care groups.

The ultimate aim of the website is to educate, influence and advocate the rights of animals and to recognise that they are sentient beings.

Pet Care Objectives
Animalcare101 will promote the effective care of pets, including housing, breeding, grooming and medication. This will be achieved by engaging the community in discussion, educating and training individuals and children in the the proper handling and care of pets. Additionally, Animalcare101 will support animal shelters and rescue organisations by promoting their cause.

Farm Animal Care Objectives
Animalcare101 will promote the humane treatment of all farm animals, especially factory farmed chickens for meat, caged hens for eggs, pigs in breeding pens, live export of cattle and other animals and feedlot cattle. The objective is to help agencies to pressure government for the reduction and better regulation of all of these activities, with a long term aim of the elimination of such activities, where practical. Animalcare101 will achieve results by working with agencies by promoting their information and encouraging donations.

Wild Animal Care Objectives
Animalcare101 will promote the efforts of agencies and charities in the rescue and care of wild animals, particularly of endangered and threatened species. Animalcare101 will establish relationships with selected local and international agencies and charities to promote their work, and will publish stories and encourage donations to these causes.

Feral Animal Care Objectives
Animalcare101 will promote the humane management of feral animals to minimise the effect of control measures on the animals and to lessen the impact of feral animals on the environment, and on wild and farm animals. Animalcare101 will promote the oversight of any Feral Animal Plan by a humane agency and will encourage research into feral animal management and into assessing the environmental and economic impact of feral animals.

The logo should be designed with all of the above objectives in mind. The logo will be initially used on the website as the principle graphic in the header; however, we also require the logo to be suitable for use on business cards, letterheads and email headers/footers and as an identifying image on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+.

Target Market(s)

The target audience for Animalcare101 is all animal lovers and those passionate about animal causes.

This group will include people of both genders, a wide age range and a broad socio-economic demographic.
