My friend has developed a meditation course, which will include an app, podcasts, and YouTube videos.
He is interested in three different names: Karm, Serena, and Be Here Now.
Please have a go at 1, 2 or all 3 names.
(There will probably be 2nd and 3rd place winners in this contest).
Competitors include Headspace, 10% Happier, and Simple Habit.
The logo should use calm colours. I am open to any type of font. It could be a logo that uses only the name, or there could be an icon followed by the name (like Headspace).
Here is some more information about the course, in case it helps, but don't feel you have to read it:
About the Course
It's a resource for reaching optimal psychological and physical health. It has the effect of bringing joy, peace, health, and love into day to day life. To help people reach this state, guided meditations and mind training exercises (100+), short explanatory animated videos, summaries of the latest scientific discoveries in the field, natural soundscapes, a simple timer and scheduling capability to track and plan your mind training practice are or will be available. The techniques are based on the teachings of many of today’s greatest neuroscientists, psychologists and physicists but also wisdom teachers from today and throughout the ages (e.g. Buddha).
Target Market
Secular, Western, college+ educated, (urban), middle to upper income men and women in their 40s (more broadly 30s through 50s) looking for a way to reach their own personal optimal mental and physical well being. Those who have lived much of life and feel there must be something more but are unable to connect with the available religious and non-religious opportunities for help. They have experienced enough suffering that they are open to a new strategy and will take the time to learn it. Whether it be depression, loss of a loved one, addiction, marital problems, anger, anxiety, chronic physical pain or any number of other ailments, the target person will be dealing with one or more of these sorts of things so painfully that they are ready to explore a psychology- and science-based “spirituality” as a path to happiness (i.e. without the religious overhang). They are comfortable using apps or YouTube or Podcasts.
Positioning
Yoga for the brain. Pilates for the mind. Science-based tools [/app] for feeling great, especially if you’ve lived enough life to be skeptical of anyone making that kind of promise. Somewhere between self-help, religion, psychology, and science. Combination of spiritual/theological/wisdom teachings with hard core, science based information on the nature of the universe and the human brain. It’s mystics (Dalai Lama/Eckardt Tolle/Deepak Chopra) meets Academics/Psychologists (Joseph Campbell/Jordan Petersen/David Eagleman/Stephen Pinker/Dan Gilbert) meets physicists (Brian Cox/Brian Greene/Richard Feynman) meets self-help gurus (Tim Ferriss/Tony Robbins).
Voice/Personality
Serious, powerful stuff but conveyed in as playful and simple a manner as one can given the topic. Headspace is the best comparison.
Industry/Entity Type
Alternative Medicine
