Logo Design Brief
I need to build a logo for a small hotel in Palm Springs, CA, It was built in the early 1940s and is Art Deco style architecture.
The logo will be the same for signage, business cards and all other logo purposes.
It needs to be simple, art deco in style, but elegant. I like the idea of making the W a little more stand out than the rest.
THE WESTCOTT
PALM SPRINGS
THE WESTCOTT is the name of the hotel, and it's first location is PAM SPRINGS so I'd like that incorporated into it together.
The LLC Name is Westcott Hospitality LLC so this name can be the same design.
As for colors, I like black, grey, silver/chrome - the building is all white so the art deco prominence of black is in the windows etc and of course is very art deco in style.
When seeing the logo, it should feel "elegant, classy, upmarket, clean, modern, fresh, designed'
Updates
I'd like to add in a suggestion to see what can be done with changing the focus of the logo from a W to two t's. For example: TT
This could represent a door to a hotel room for example but also is slightly different and moves away from the W which is obviously already known in the hotel market.
TT may also suit the art deco feel.

Must have
- A crisp, modern and elegant feel which is stylish - fits in with the art deco architecture and style of hotel. I really like some of the art deco borders that are coming out - just nothing too elaborate. As a desert location, simplicity is the key for a relaxing ambiance.
Nice to have
- embossed Lettering - a font that would look good made of metal (black / chrome) on the front of the building.
Should not have
- pictures / clip art etc. Also no fonts that look comical, fun etc - the fonts need to show a crisp, clean stylish look for the hotel.
