Logo Design Brief

***************** IMPORTANT UPDATE - PLEASE READ **********************
**********************************************************************************************
Dear Designers,
This project has been relaunched on the advice of the very helpful DesignCrowd support people after I explained the problems I was having with the "winning" designer in the Design Handover phase of the project:
I was extremely pleased with the "winning" concept, marked it as the winner, and messaged the designer. Unfortunately, and frustratingly(!), the designer then wouldn't (or couldn't?) enter into dialogue necessary for the handover.
So I'm left with a concept I love (see attached file "Winning Logo Concept.jpg"), but no-one to finish the project :-(
DesignCrowd has done the fairest thing and allocated all participation payments to the original designer but re-opened the project for me to select another winner.
I don't need a new concept, but I do need someone the "work it up" and create the PDFs of the signage that will use it. Please message me to give me confidence that you can complete this project.
Many thanks in advance,
John

We are a bike shop which has now been in business for 3 years. At the time we opened we weren't very focused as to what our brand/market was. We sold - (or rather tried to sell!) - bikes all the way from £99 to £3000+.

Despite this, a talented eLance designer named Christa Robillard did a great job of creating a brand for us, considering we couldn't articulate very well what the brand stood for! We particularly liked (and still do) her business card design! Please see attached files for our branding. Sadly, Christa is no longer available for freelance projects.

Three years on and we know exactly what our company values are (Friendly, Professional, Enthusiastic), and what our primary market niche is: Commuter/recreational cyclists looking for city bikes in the £500 to £1000 range.

Project Deadline Extended Reason: Extending deadline by (up to) 5 days for the first and final time.I've been thrilled by the high quality of the 100+ designs submitted. However, this morning I eliminated all designs except those from GliderGraphx and The Green View. Unless something outstanding appears in the next few days, the winner will come from one of these two.I love the stylishness and versatility of the design from the The Green Room, and I love the bold, clean simplicity and triangular "flag" motif of the designs from GliderGraphx.I'm looking forward to any other minor modifications/suggestions/colours these designers can submit, including thoughts on the window signage. Many thanks in advance,John Added Thursday, June 15, 2017

Requirements
Must have
  • Our current logo works well in email signatures and on our business cards, but its squared-off, monochrome look can look a bit stark on, for instance, the front of the shop and on the web-site. I'm therefore interested in any ideas for a slightly less "austere" logo that will work in all situations including: shop front, business card, carrier bags, web-site header. (We will post another new project for the Shopify website styling).
  • As part of this re-branding project, we are re-painting the front window frames and replacing the 6 vinyl panels about the entrance doors and 5 windows. As part of the brief, we expect PDFs for these panels: The one above the double doors will be the new (or redesigned) logo but without the "& Café" as it is now closed. The content of the other 5 panels is up to your creativity. The best idea we've had so far is to keep the bike and smiley face icons on the first and last panels, and spell out our 3 company values (see above) on the other three, but I'm very interested in what other ideas you have.
Nice to have
  • Colour-wise, I think we need to add a third colour (after black (or dark grey) and white we have at the moment). Yellow/Gold is the most obvious choice because of its cycling links, but I'm open to other suggestions.
