Logo Design Brief

The Solar and Sustainable Energy Society of Canada is a non-profit charity for the promotion of solar and sustainable energy in Canada.

The new logo should reflect what we do: we promote and encourage the use of solar and renewable energy, we make people aware of the various solar technologies, we inform the public and governments about sustainable energy policy.

The logo should reflect a bright and positive future for energy in Canada. The logo should communicate a progressive outlook and a positive spirit. The logo should have some indication of solar energy. (but no solar panels)

The logo will be used on our website, on banners at conferences, on promotional materials and business cards.

Logos from other organizations have been uploaded for your reference. The one called SESCI is our existing logo. ASES, CanSIA and ISES are all other solar organizations we work with and our logo can't look like them, of course.

Key target audience types include:

Solar professionals, engineers, installers and researchers anywhere in age between 25 and 50. Both male and female.

Governments, similar energy associations, and universities, both in Canada and internationally.

Requirements

Must have

• Some form of the color yellow that symbolizes solar. To be clear and hopefully helpful, there are three logos that I have found that I really like. They are attached, Sustainable Energy for All, Solar Energy World, and the Sprint one. I like them because they are simple and clean but have a lot of "feeling" in them. I would like a design like this, but obviously not copied.

Nice to have

• Use a color palette similar to the Solar Energy World logo.

Should not have

• No images of solar panels, no images of maple leafs.
