Logo Design Brief

I am looking for a professional logo for my online paint by number company called the art-forge. My current concept is the top of a paint brush with three colours on top. It's meant to look both like a paint brush, and like a piece of coal on fire, as a play on the business name.
I like the concept a lot, but i do not like the colours in the logo and i don't think it looks professional enough. I want the logo to be recognizable in any size (very small, like on a paint brush, and large like on the box) and any colour (if it were to be printed in black and white)

• simple design, able to print onto brown cardboard

Nice to have

• able to use the font and the logo independently
• open to ideas such as having a square or circle around logo or lines
• open to ideas that are better than mine haha

Should not have

• i do not like overly feminine cursive
• should not be overly complicated
