Logo Design Brief

I require a logo design for a high-end, classy pet business (that will initially focus on bespoke indoor and outdoor Dog/Cat/animal houses, but plans to diversify into pet food, clothing, training and toys). The business will aim to create a brand around my recently deceased German Shepherd Dog, Gunner. His nickname was Mr.G - and so this business will be called Mr. G Pets

I would like the logo to have an element of fun, playfulness and be instantly recognisable. This business is being launched in tribute to my 10 years with Gunner (Mr. G) and so this project means a lot to me. I am also open for other artistic ideas that meet the design criteria (further below) and which would do my Gunner proud.

Target Market(s)

My target customers are wealthy individuals that want something bespoke, unique and of high quality – in essence people who spoil their pets and want the best for them. The logo therefore has to portray a quality and high-end feel. The Logo (a core part of the brand) must be adaptable/applicable to a number of products/services within the pet industry and I want it to be easy to manufacture e.g. embroidery for clothing, print media and metal/woodwork - not too complex.
My vision is for Mr. G to be a quality brand that sells bespoke dog/cat/animal houses as its primary offering, but also selects the best products from other complementary brands – it stands for quality, nobleness, trustworthiness, knowledge and understanding. We know what your pet needs.

Must have

• In summary, the logo has to:
• • Be instantly recognisable (as a pet business)
• • Portray high-end, quality and trustworthiness - class
• • Be simple to print, manufacture and use with a variety of applications
• • Be adaptable to a range of pet products and services (for different species)
• • Contain the words: Mr. G Pets
• I would also like the “Mr. G” lettering to feature more prominent than the word “Pets”. Font selection and design will be key in this logo.

Nice to have

• My initial thoughts for a logo are based upon a number of his final pictures that we took of him. He took to wearing Red Glasses and was always playing with his Yellow Tennis Ball, so I have a number of ideas for marketing off the back of this. One such idea that I would like Logo designers to explore is the use of Red Glasses and Yellow Tennis Ball in the logo design.
• This is not essential, but could possibly work. I have attached a number of his pictures (including the "Red Glasses and Yellow Tennis Ball") for inspiration. I reiterate, I am open to further ideas and designs for this logo (brand) as well as the Red Glasses Yellow Tennis Ball idea.

Should not have

• The Logo should not narrow the target market and focus on one species of pet - it needs to be adaptable and applicable to pets in general whilst staying true to its target demographic of customers (high-end, wealthy, love pets, spend money on pets, want high quality).
