Thank you for all the designs so far. One or two come close to what I am looking for, but I thought I'd add a little more info. This cover is one of a series. My expectation is that the designer of the winning cover will then complete the next two covers. Being a series, the covers will have to be cohesive, and this could be achieved by a font, an image, or the overall styling. The first book in my family saga is set in 1928, the next (this one) in 1935-1939, and the last will be 1943-1950. I want covers that scream out the period so that the reader only has to glance over a range of book thumbnails on Amazon to pick out each of MY books! Take for example the author Beatriz Williams. You can tell her 1920, 30's, 40's novels a mile off! They are smart, clever and colourful. I'm not asking for my covers to imitate hers, but I am looking for a similar effect.

Thank you to everyone who has so far submitted a design for my book cover. I appreciate the time, effort, and creativity that has gone into all your work. Still looking for a design with that certain 'something' though, and you all have my sympathy since no matter how hard I try to convey exactly what I am looking for there is no way you can see into my mind! Not even sure I can either! What I do know is that one of you is going to submit a proposal that has me going 'wow, yes, that's it! Now I'm looking at a New York Times Best Seller!" All I can reiterate is, focus on the period (1935-1939). My reader will likely be female and aged 35 to 65, and probably the same women buying Diney Costelo's series set in the 1940's. Check out those covers on Amazon. Just like Beatriz Willaims covers (1930's) you only need a glance to know exactly when the stories are set, and that is what I am looking for too.

I like the book in general and I have a couple of ideas but I need to know the size, you mentioned that's an ebook there are different specifications for several websites so if you know exactly which one or the specification of the cover, that would be great
