The UPCI is the largest Oneness Pentecostal church organization with 4400 churches in North America and a global constituency of 2.4 million members. The church has never had an official logo but rather has had a fluid image that has evolved through the years as new leaders implemented revisions. We are now trying to create a standardized logo and implement consistent use across all parts of the organization.
Specs: We need a logo that accomplishes the following:
1. Keeps some of the design elements of our history. We believe this means using some version of a globe image, since that has been the only constant in the various iterations of the logo across the years. We think an abstract version of the globe may work well.
2. We want a classic-looking logo that we will be comfortable still using in 15 years. We think simple and clean with a traditional-looking font rather than a fresh, trendy design will give us that staying power.
3. We will use the logo on a variety of media, so we need something simple that can work in black-and-white printing and as a white logo on top of full-color printed advertisements. We are concerned about how the globe image looks, e.g. if it is abstract with a 3-D look with a gradient, how would that transparent background look over a full-color photo in advertisements, etc.
4. One issue with the current logo is that it has our slogan but not our organization name. We do not want the slogan in the new logo and would like the organization name instead. However, we are not sure if we want the acronym UPCI or the full name: United Pentecostal Church International. We seek proofs that show both versions.
