Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for an existing Aikido martial arts dojo in the Phoenix Metro Area. Our company name is San Tan Aikido Kokikai (www.SanTanAikido.com). Aikido has its origins in the centuries old traditions of the Japanese martial arts. It is a form of budo, a way of life that seeks to shape and polish the self through a blend of physical training and mental discipline. It is an art of pure self-defense - there are no attacks in Aikido. We view all challenge and conflict as an opportunity for deeper understanding, connections, and growth as we apply the powerful principles of Aikido to daily life. Kokikai Aikido is an evolved style of Aikido that emphasizes “Minimum effort for maximum effect”.
We would like to see designs that use the colors of a vibrant teal blue and white. We would like the design to communicate spiraling vibrant energy with elegance and minimalist simplicity, and it needs to have a Japanese/Asian feel. It needs to include our full company name "San Tan Aikido Kokikai". We would like to see if it's possible to use the Japanese kanji of "Ki" integrated in the design, along with our company name.

I just uploaded a pic of our old logo. I like the spiraling energy look in the center, but not the hands or the glass. I also feel like it's too busy.
