Illustration Design Brief

We are a startup clothing brand looking for japanese inspired street and urban design/art.

Our Label is called “Ukiyo” which literally means “floating world” - Living in the moment, detached from bothers’ of life.

We aim to mix modern and ancient art inspirations into one. With this in mind we are looking for a design that represents us and our core culture. A few words that describe our culture is bold, modern, edgy, trendy, otaku, street, urban, style, pop...

Our target market is males and females 17-35yrs, interested in music, art, popular culture, kawaii, anime & manga, clothing brands, popular trends etc. We need something bold that attracts to this demographic.

One of our competitors or more so an inspiration for design would be Tokidoki http://www.tokidoki.it please see their site for inspiration and direction but please keep design original. Other brands for inspiration would be Mambo http://www.mambo-world.com and Unit https://www.unit.com

We already have kawaii (cute japanese style characters) in the making and are looking to balance the designs with something a little sexy and edgy to compliment. Our brand is heavily based on illustration with a japanese influence so any design must be an illustration and not include photography.

For this design we would like a sexy young women as the centerpiece to the design, she can be modern with tattoos, jewelry, headphones etc try and add japanese influences like cherry blossoms, kawaii etc. We want the line work very modern and minimal much like the tokidoki girl as this design will be used on hats as well and needs to scale well.
Feel free to play with colours, however we will need a design that will sit well on dark garments and a design that will sit well on light, so most likely two versions will be needed. We will also need our logo included somewhere in the design, our thoughts would be to have the logo sit below the woman and be integrated with the design, however feel free to explore other creative pursuits.

Overview
Ukiyo needs a design to be used on apparel (T-shirts, caps, bags etc).
Needs to be an original illustration in vector format.
Must include a modern sexy young women, can just be waist up or full body.
Must include the Ukiyo Logo (see attached).
Manga/Anime feel but not cartoony.

I have included a new file of the Ukiyo x Enox Hipster and Kawaii girl, what I would like to see is the line work to be more complementing with this characters line work. So the thin/medium lines that show the details and then the character outline a thick black outline.

The style of the women however needs to be different and more like the Tokidoki women. I hope this make sense.
