TASK DESCRIPTION
ABOUT OUR COMPANY: One Smart Kid provides individual and small group courses that support each of our students' unique learning styles in a dynamic and encouraging environment. We profile every student's educational needs and help all our students become the pilots in their journeys to achieving academic mastery. We offer academic support in all subjects, including organizational and time management skills, for students K-12. Our commitment lies in helping students develop the necessary skills, confidence, and motivation to become successful learners. Our tagline is “Learn Your Way”

ABOUT THE EVENT: Every summer, One Smart Kid offers small group courses at our office. This year we are changing up the marketing of these courses and we’d like an accompanying flyer to reflect this new theme. For 2017 we are introducing “One Smart Kid Summer Camp.” Each course is now fashioned as a camp, with accompanying course descriptions that include thematic elements of camping (hiking, exploring, summiting, trails, pitching a tent, etc).

ABOUT THE FLYER:
The flyer will be sent to parents and educators, displayed on our website, and printed and disseminated at various schools, libraries and local bulletin boards/coffee shops. We have a vision in mind of how we’d like the flyer designed, and we’re looking forward to someone bringing that vision to fruition! We want the flyer to be “outdoorsy” and minimalist - lots of dark greens, sepia and oranges. The flyer design will convey a camp setting in an exciting and aesthetically pleasing way (not cartoonish or childish).

We want the flyer to have a road winding through it. Each camp will have the camp name (Main Title) and Subtitle listed on a wooden sign - the sign will have two directional arrows with the Main Title on top and the Subtitle on bottom. Next to the sign will be the course description copy. Above (we are open to placement suggestions) the course description will be two merit badges: Merit Badge 1 will be a fun camp image (e.g. binoculars, flashlight, campfire, compass) and Merit Badge 2 will be the grades for the course. We will provide you with the graphics for Merit Badge 1, and you will create the vector image for Merit Badge 2 in a style that matches the graphics of Merit Badge 1 we provide for you. We will also provide you with the wooden sign image for the camp names and grades.

Before we purchase the graphics mentioned above, please let us know which size (dpi) you need downloaded.

We would like you to design a “camp logo” in the style of a merit badge as well. We have included a very rough copy of the flyer design - the current design has a tent on it, but we’d like the tent to look like a book. We’d like the color scheme to match the oranges and blues of our previous flyer, particularly the orange of our business logo!

At the bottom of the flyer will be our About Us section with our original logo. We have attached a rough sketch of this image as well for your reference.

We will be printing the flyers in-house on our HP Printer, so the background of the flyer must be white.

FONT STYLES TO USE
For the Main Title on the wooden sign, we would like a fun, “outdoorsy” font. For the Subtitle on the wooden sign, it can be a basic sans serif font, and it should be a smaller font size than the man title (but still readable). We’re open to either using new font or font used on our 2016 Summer Course Flyer. Styles we like are:
- Rustic
- “Outdoorsy”
- Vintage

LOOK AND FEEL
- Camp-themed (e.g. campsite, trail map, tent, trees, dirt roads, mountains, etc)
- REI-style graphics (following infograpics for reference: http://blog.rei.com/camp/loving-the-outdoors-sharing-the-love/ http://blog.rei.com/camp/inforgraphic-how-to-make-a-great-campfire/
- The flyer should express fun!
- Education as an adventure/exploration
- Vector graphics only (no photos)
- Rustic
- Vintage (Portland, Brooklyn-style)
- NOT professional, sleek or dry
- NOT boring summer school with stock photos of children
