Illustration Design Brief
Help us create a background illustration for display in a natural history exhibit! You will be creating a layered, Illustrator vector file. The overall look is to appear like a very highly skilled, hand-drafted 19th Century scientific illustration of the famed Fibonacci's curve. Include the draftperson's layout and guide lines, and the hand lettered text. The background should resemble the older paper color, but not be deeply saturated. You'll see that there is a series of rectangles that get larger and turn...and are all slightly different colors. Please create this as well.
The overall case interior is 42" x 58", vertical. If you use any raster art in the background for the colored texture, it will need to be 150dpi at 100% scale.
The sample provided, without the object layout overtop gives you the look and feel. You are NOT needed to drawing the objects as these are only for your reference. We've also provided the case layout to give you a sense of how the illustration will be used. It will be illuminated from behind and the output will be a translucent print mounted to plexiglass.
It's important that your native files (Adobe AI only, with Photoshop for any raster elements) be layered and that we be able to adjust them. We will need to fine tune the opacity in creating our production samples so access to layers is important.
NOTE: The attached file: Sample for Illustration.jpg include unneeded text. ONLY the numbers within the curve itself should appear. The small inset illustration and ALL other text is not to be included. The sample is shown as a horizontal image. The actual art you are creating is
