Logo Design Brief

I need a conference logo ASAP. The audience are artists who work in the figurative art area (drawing and painting). These artists are part of a classical resurgence.

I need a logo that includes
1. FACE
2. includes the name Figurative Art Convention and Expo
3. has an icon or an image. The ideal would be something from BARGUE showing a classical figure.
4. Something that works in all formats (web, print, etc)

I need something that crosses the line between hip, classical. Audiences are both young and old. Needs to feel fresh.

Ideas to look at: The kind of art would be found at The Florence Academy, The Grand Central Academy, or the Art Renewal.org (look at the Approved ateliers).

Our competition is the Portrait Society, which comes across as old and stodgy. We want to come across as fresh, new, youthful, yet credible.

We think the idea of FACE should be prominent, supported by the name.

We want to avoid frontal nudity, unless it feels appropriate.

We also have to avoid looking like a strip club or hair salon :-)

Note it does Not have to be Bargue drawings, though there are some classics that could be incorporated, but we want to avoid looking Victorian.

Note that drawings submitted may be someone elses copy of bargue... best to find original bargue drawings that are out of copyright.

Logo must work well in black and white though can have color added.

Note that sponsor of the conference is Fine Art Connoisseur magazine.
