Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for our farm. The business is starting with a Family Daycare and will eventually become an organic farm selling grass-fed Angus beef and pastured eggs. I will use the logo on signage, business cards, a Facebook page and a Wordpress blog. I have a vision of feet or trees or seedlings as they all represent our journey of new beginnings, of being connected with the earth, of putting down roots on our farm and our philosophy of free range organic farming and child care. I am also open to the use of animals in the creative concept. The challenge is finding the balance between cute (for kids) and premium (for the organic product)! Do I need an overall banner for the farm which can be modified for each product/service - childcare, beef and eggs. Thoughts? Thank you.

Please note - I have no colour preference and would like you to decide; I am open to grey scale logos but this does not save in the Colors section of the brief.
