Logo Design Brief

I am looking for a logo to use to promote my startup business / independent contractor services for freelance writing, promotions, marketing, blogging and social media.

I am looking for a mixture between simple and sexy/dramatic/strong. When I think of color themes for Davey H Production, I feel that classic Black and White suits it best, perhaps with minor accents of red?

I am in the current process of building my website, it is in the very early stages but perhaps may give a little more insight.
