Logo Design Brief
We need a Logo for a new company called Markerr Controls.
The company manufactures Hardware and Software for the Building Automation Industry.
Our approach is to have the easiest hardware to use, directed to the current generation Tech Savy Automation Technicians.
Markerr is a combination of elements of the founders Last Names, i.e. "Mar" and "Kerr"
We are looking for a Logo that can be used throughout our marketing materials and product labeling.
We need an Iconic design. One that is memorable. A play with graphic fonts on the word "Markerr" is a possibility.
The word Markerr needs to be part of the logo. "Markerr Controls" is also a possiblility, with "Markerr" being the main Idea.
The Logo should develop an association with sensible, practical, modern - building automation control products that are stable and easy to use. Our products balk at the tradition
of the current old stodgy solutions based on aging technologies from products offered by many of our competitors.
The Logo must not communicate a gimicky or cheap message. The Logo must communicate user-friendly and easy to use product
and at the same time one that it is powerful, effective and scaleable.
Markerr would like to present itself as re-defining the accepted standard of building automation products. We admire companies like Apple, Microsoft and Intel, pioneers and world changers in their respective industries.
The logo should be clean and straight forward. One that is easily used through out marketing materials, product labeling and Web banners. Consideration should be given to printablily for silkscreening, relief moulding, and single tone printing. A more colorful Logo is acceptable for marketing and Web Graphics, but it must be easily rendered in the formats mentioned, i.e. single tone.
We are looking for more than just a font logo. We would like an ICON with the words markerr, or markerr controls. The ICON can incorporate the text, i.e. the text is the ICON, but not just a font. See fnglass.com or cat.com for inspiration.

Hello Everyone.
We are getting close to the end.
We want to clarify that "Markerr" should be treated as one word, i.e. do not differentiate between Mar and Kerr by any means, either by capitalization, font color etc.
Our preferred colours are Blue - Blue-Grey, Blue-white, Blue- Silver combinations.
Icons and Icon/s with text are prefered over text only.
We have seen many great designs and a few contenders.
This is a guaranteed contest and someone wil be taking the prize.
