Logo Design Brief

Solidarite Femmes Geneve, a 40 year old domestic violence charity in Geneva, is changing its name to AVVEC (Aide aux Victimes de Violence En Couple) to orientate itself towards being able to offer services not just to women but to all suffering intimate partner violence. The acronym AVVEC sounds the same as the word "avec" in French, which means "together" so symbolising our relationship with the victim of violence, to accompany them through this journey. The logo should include the letters AVVEC but ideally drawn in such a way that the viewer sees the word AVEC (ie the two V's should overlap or be nested). Colours should be bright and take in some of the colours associated with domestic violence actions, eg violet and orange. It would be good to enclose the letters in some way so that the design is not just letters but within some kind of round shape that demonstrates how AVVEC will encircle the victim in a protective and reassuring manner. The final design should communicate AVVEC's support for victims, but also its professionalism and expertise in this area.

• The letters AVVEC, ideally with the two V's nested so that it looks like the word AVEC which in French means "with".
• Some colours which are associated with domestic violence, eg orange and violet.
• Not overtly feminine design.
• Clear lines so impactful, and able to be used on many supports and backgrounds

Nice to have

• Some kind of round form to demonstrate how AVVEC accompanies and encircles the victim, in a protective and supportive way

Should not have

• Flowers or natural forms, nor should it have sharp points or anything representing aggression
