Logo for an Engineering Consulting Business
Add your question or comments below
To all designers,
Because of scheduling and need to have business cards right away, the duration of this contest is 5 days. Please submit your designs as soon as you can.
The deliverable for this contest are PSD and Postscript files.
I missed .AI format. So, deliverable is PSD with layers, PS and AI formats.
Hello Designers,
Thank you for your submissions. I see the use of company name is incorrect in some design concepts. I probably did not explain this in the brief. I am going to update the brief, but I say here too.
Company name should be presented as XTVue. Please pay attention to the capital letters. You cannot change them. The following renditions, for example, are INCORRECT:
xTVue
XTvue
XTVUE
And so on and so on.
Also, I would like to see some decorative symbols in the designs. So far the submissions use the company name only. Add an icon to represent the engineering consulting nature of the business. I agree the areas of expertise in this company are vast, but I would say consulting in marketing of products in "graphic simulation and visualization" and "graphic virtualization" are two most important activities of the consultants.
To all Designers,
- Please do not include LLC in the logo. LLC is not part of the logo. I explained that before. Suppose the company becomes Inc. or even a Partnership, then logo will be wrong. So just use this:
XTVue
The design submissions so far are not compelling. Maybe one or two and they are not immensely exciting.
I suggest you search Google and Wikipedia for "graphic simulation" and "graphic visualization" and "graphic virtualization" to get inspiration.
I like to know if my brief is not helpful, in which case ask me what you need to know. I would be glad to answer your questions.
Regards
I will give feedback to each design in 6 hours from now, but I have reviewed all logos to this moment and I have a good understanding of these designs. Thanks!
Hello,
I have analysed your requirements & I have visualise the design output.
I have more than 4 years of experience in logo & web designing, I have expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, good knowledge of PHP,HTML & moreover I have expertise in responsive design. I have worked for many companies, I have a very good profile in freelancer.com (came from vWorker), I can show you that too, in DesignCrowd I am very new.
I can assure you one thing is that you will be fully satisfied with my designing work.
Hoping for a kind consideration & positive reply from your side.
Thanks & regards,
Priya
To all Designers,
Thank you for your submissions. I am reviewing the logos that I have not given feedback so far (or the new ones in the last 2 days).
I would like to give you valuable feedback to make sure you designs look like the one I want. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION.
1. Stop the Gear. Do not use gear in your design. A gear represent a mechanical object. Our company provides consulting services in the field of data visualization, software simulation, and graphic virtualization. Do not mix up those gear icons on dotcom web sites (representing user configuration or preferences) with what we do.
2. Capital X and T. For the nth time, do NOT use small characters in X and T. X and T must appear in capital letters. Also V in Vue should appear in capital letter.
Here: XTVue
For your information, Vue is another way of saying View.
So think of XT as the company and Vue as what they do: Viewing data visualization. Obviously, if you process data, you want to show the results in a visual presentation. Right?
3. Complex Philosophy. I have read some description from designers they go into deep philosophy to explain what their image or icon represents. Please, stay with my Brief document.
You see, concepts like Honesty, Professional, Progressive, Stable Business, etc. are not the objective of my business. Drop this. Instead, concentrate on coming up with a design that shows:
- data visualization
- Software Simulation
- Graphic virtualization
- High Performance Computing (focused on graphical rendering)
It is hard to cover all these areas. I will be happy if your logo handles just one.
I would like to report to you that so far I have seen only one logo that I liked. There are a few others that I consider second best, but I am really trying to be respectful to all of you.
So I am here to guide you.Ask me any question. How many of you have done Google image search on "data visualization", software simulation", "graphic virtualization", and "High performance computing"?
Make sure you conduct image search, not text search. :-)
Thank you again.
Hello to all Designers,
Another tip to get a feeling for data visualization is Computational Fluid Dynamics. Go to Google Image search and type "Computational Fluid Dynamics" and you will find hundreds of different color maps. These are representative of one form of data visualization.
Another good example is temperature map of the country. Do a Google Image search for "temperature gradient chart" and you will see hundreds of data visualization images.
So our company is in business of consulting for clients that need data visualization. So special sophisticated software is responsible in creating all the above images.
Your logo design should include an image to convey to the viewer the above data visualization.
Thank you.
I uploaded a file in the Brief section. It is a representative of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) data visualization. Granted, this is an artistic visual image, but it is steal based on real data visualization. I am hopeful this and my previous comment would guide you in your designs.
Regards
I uploaded a second file in the Brief section. It is a logo of a company. DO NOT USE and DO NOT ADAPT this logo, but I want you to get inspiration from it in terms of one way to illustrated the concept of color gradients.
Regards
