CD Cover Design Brief

I need a cover, an insert, a back cover, and a CD image for a choral orchestral album. All of the music is rather dramatic, and has a real cinematic flare to it. It will be available to download from all major digital distributors, as well as a limited physical release.

I love impressionistic works, fantasy-esque pieces as well as a sketch style. My vision is to combine all of those styles into one for this album art. I've attached a sketch of a cello player, as well as a couple of paintings and sketches that capture the essences of what I'm after.

I would like to create a scenery picture like I've attached and somehow tie musical instruments into it, whether as withered and half buried remains of cellos and basses, or vibrant center pieces. I leave it up to you. I love the broad sweeping lines of the instrument sketches, and how some of them are almost ambiguous. It's different, and gives it a unique twist.

The title of the album is "Walk Beside Me" and should be included on the cover and CD image.

The following information must be included inside the booklet, but not on the front cover.

Requirements

Must have

• The project must be creative, and have a unique approach to the presentation of classical stringed instruments. The image must be more than just a place holder, it should tell it's own story, a story of a hard journey.
• It must have the title of the album on the cover and CD image. Variations or extensions of the same image can be used for the CD image, insert and back cover. (i.e. the cover without the title could be used for the back cover, or the front cover could be large and split into two halves, which would cover front and back.)

Nice to have

• I would love to see the sketch style of the instruments in my examples incorporated, I love the use of colors, but it's not required. As you can see in the examples, I love the use of vivid colors, but not jarring. Think "Final Fantasy".
• I would love to have a unique design of the title. Something that ties in nicely with the rest of the image.

Should not have

• No specific people or locations should be depicted. (No Michael Jackson in New York)
