Logo Design Brief

Need a logo design for a new internet based company called MEDLOR. This is an acronym for Metadata Edit Decision List Online Repository. It also is similar to the word meddler (to involve oneself without invitation). The domain name is medlor.com and may be included in the logo if it seems to work but is not necessary.
MEDLOR is a free online database of EDL meta data that can be accessed by video player software (i.e. Windows Media Player, VideoLAN, HTML5 video players, etc.) to "legally" alter the playback in accordance with Family Movie Act of 2005 passed by the US congress. The EDL features allow for a number of media playback enhancements from highlighting specific characters or genres within a film, to omitting specific content in order to mimic a specific MPAA rating (i.e. take an R movie and make it PG-13).

Logo design concepts should be simple, include the name medlor (upper/lowercase/whatever), and look natural against logos like that of Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, PLEX, KODI, YouTube, etc. I would like to see designs that use a deep purple or reddish color or gradeints, or similar colors you experience when entering a typical movie theater. A clever addition might find a way to integrate red green and blue that form RGB based colors as a minor component of the logo.

Also, main features of the service are playing, skipping and muting so I've wondered if it might be possible to include the typical symbols (play, skip and mute) into the logo, but I would prefer simplicity of the logo over including those symbols if it makes the logo too busy.
