Logo Design Brief

Looking for a fun logo design that reflects the joy associated to good food and its role in bringing together friends and family. I would like submissions to be in visual form. It can even be a pencil sketch demonstrating the concept / idea behind the design. I would love for the logo to incorporate stylised cartoonish characters (not caricatures) representing myself, my wife, mother, great auntie and sister into the logo if possible.
Note that this is NOT a blog for a restaurant. So, no chefs hats, uniforms etc. It should also subtly reflect our Asian heritage. There is no real preference for colour. We're open to suggestions.
I've attached a brief. There is a logo in the brief that I'd like the design to be based on.

Nice to have

• Option/Variation 1: Single character similar to attached GirlPic logo but dark hair instead of blond and food instead of camera.
• Option/Variation 2: Incorporation of multiple characters representing the Yeow family members (see attached brief)...me in the front (only because I'll be the main author of content and voiceover for videos).

Should not have

• Chef hats, uniforms ...it's not a restaurant.
