Logo Design Brief

***NEW INFO***: The best reference for what I am after can be found from the world's newest companies - tech startups that are becoming famous and household names. They are using simple, contemporary logo designs that are unique and memorable (I've attached examples of logos that are in the ballpark of where I want to be). I'm looking for a simple graphic device that can be joined up with a word mark to make the logo but the device can also be used alone and instantly acknowledge as part of the brand (see slack examples). For Next Milestone, finding a graphic that is instantly associated with a business milestone is key. The successful logo will therefore have
1) A contemporary font for "Next Milestone"
2) A graphic device that represents a business milestone - essentially they are markers along a roadmap or timeline that indicate reaching a goal (I have attached some reference examples for this)


ORIGINAL BRIEF
We need a logo design for our new company based in Australia called Next Milestone. Our consultancy has a team of experienced Entrepreneurs who know that success comes from defining a series of milestones and measuring success at each one. Whether for a startup or an established company, we help define a clear pathway to the next milestone and then work with a business to achieve it.

The final design should use our colour palette and bring to life the idea of 'milestone' and positive progress. The work we do is collaborative and interactive and often around solving problems, testing and validating possible solutions so the logo could communicate a sense of this, ie rougher design to indicate work in progress vs polished/ high-end consultancy. The colour palette has been chosen to include a range of colours that would have a practical application in the work we do, ie colour coding various tracks/ activities towards a milestone (see design references attached). It is not essential that the logo include all colours. A base charcoal can be added to this.

It should have a contemporary feel, being targeted largely at high growth, tech companies. It should not be overly masculine so that it reflects the founder, who is a woman (nothing overtly feminine however).

Target Market(s)

Largely targeted at startups, helping them focus on the next most important milestone. These are most likely to be tech startups pre-funding who may not have all the skills and experience in their business to get off the ground.

The secondary market is VCs and corporates who are looking to invest or partner with startups and who want further validation before they do, hence hiring Next Milestone to work with startup on achieving a set milestone.
