Web Design Brief
We’re looking to get a website design to represent and deliver a self-publishing coaching and training program called “Self-Publishing 1-2-3”.
The tag line for the program and the site is “Step-By-Step Training and Personal Coaching to Help Get Your Book out of Your Head and Into the Hands of Your Waiting Avid Readers”.
The program is based around a 6-step process shown in the attached image named “6 Steps for Self-SP.png” and what makes this program unique is it will provide coaching and training through small coaching groups of a minimum of 4 and no more than 8 participants in any coaching group.
Attached is a PDF export from Balsamiq showing the 5 most unique webpage wireframes for the site to give you an idea of how content for the program will be presented and organized to the site users and presented on different devices with varying screen sizes. If you have access to Balsamiq, I’m also attaching a zip folder for the whole project with all of the bmml files.
What we are looking for specifically is a responsive site design to fit the layout provide in the attached files particularly a color scheme and fonts. Please only use Google Web fonts or Adobe Type Kit Portfolio Fonts available in Adobe CC.
The site design should capture the idea that this is a step-by-step, personal small group coaching to help someone self-publish their first book along with the concepts and emotional end benefits described below.
The website design will be use on a Drupal website and we will convert the best website design to a Drupal Theme ourselves, but we also want to get the html and CSS from you as place to start that process if possible. However, if you are able to provide a fully functional Drupal Theme, we will certainly give your entry more preference.

Obviously you do not need to use every exact color sited above. This is just to give you an idea of kinds of emotions we want to evoke with the site and logo colors and the above colors are what we believe will be best associated with those emotions.
We have also found that green was the most often picked color associated with the personality of the coach for this course and green is highly represented with several of the emotions above, so a green color would be best to be the prominent color for the website. Probably a color in the range from “DarkSeaGreen” to “DarkGreen”, but we are flexible about this and look forward to seeing your professional ideas.

We also know that prospective clients will see their coach as a “Wizard / Sage” or alchemist who heroically guides the author to self-publish and become a conqueror themselves. This makes the coach their Hero and Guide.
And the expected target audience for will be females ages 45+ (most about age 55) who see themselves as “a Butterfly or Cinderella” because they transform through the process of self-publishing. And they become “Conquerors” through the accomplishment of self-publishing their books which makes them “Movie Stars” for the recognition they will receive for their conquest and transformation.
We do not want a design that overtly uses these Archetypes (Wizard, Sage, Hero, Guide, Butterfly, Cinderella, Conqueror or Movie Star”) but rather we are looking for a design that subtlety suggests these things about the coach and clients through a step-by-step personal process.
Thank you for consideration of this project and we look forward to seeing your creative designs.
We are also running a separate contest for the logo for this site and encourage you to submit to that contest as well.
