Logo Design Brief

I'm writing a fantasy series and would like to have an emblem that i can use to put on the book cover, maps, and other places.

I've pictured it as a coin, but I'm open to other ideas. Maybe a pocket watch or compass like design.

The colors and objects are symbolic.
- The field is gray symbolizing a greater force that controls pretty much everything.
- Then there are 4 spheres, one Black, White, Green, and Red to symbolize the 4 different colors of magic.
- Around the edges are 4 pairs of planets and in the center are 2 pairs of planets.

I am not tied to that layout of objects though, hence the contest. if you have a cool/crazy idea on how to lay it our, I'd love to see it. I just wanted to give some idea of the symbology.

The general feeling I'm going for are: weathered, ancient, mysterious, "just dug up out of the ground".
For the 4 large magic elements: glowing, shimmering.
For the smaller spheres/circles: jagged, imperfect, planet-like.

Requirements

Must have

• - It must have a transparent background, so I can drop it into things without having a white block effect.
  - Must have some representation of the 4 colors (Black, White, Green, and Red) and in the same relative position (white at the top, etc). it does NOT have to be circles/spheres, as in the attached example.
  - 2000 x 2000 pixel dimensions
  

Nice to have

• - It would be nice if I can shift the graphic to a pure black and white and have it look all right.
