Illustration Design Brief

We (BaliMama) are a Bali based body care company creating a range of natural body care products.

Description of work:

We need product label designs for a natural body-care line

There are two variants within this product-line.
One is the Frangipani line (variant A),
and the other is the Ginger & Lemongrass line (variant B).

The work will be in designing main design themes/styles for each variants - which can then be adapted to suit the different container dimensions and product names.

As output, we will require a a total of 7 files in Illustrator Format.
Both Variants x Containers #1 - #3. [= 6 Files].
Variant B x container #4 [= 1 file].

For each of the two main variants, the label design for each should differ through the use of different colours, different colour scheme, of different design elements (or a combination of all three), with both variants being under a main style so that the customer in the shop knows which variant they're looking at, and that they’re from the same company.

For products under each variant, we will change the product name and some supporting text elements, but the design theme will remain unchanged.

Design/Style notes:

In the ai file mockup we provide below you will see that there is currently a design element in the form of a leaf motif.

We want to explore the leaf/flower stylistic idea further in the final design.

We are especially interested in designs which reference Balinese cultural elements, flowers and nature, frangipani design elements (for variant A only), Ginger & Lemongrass design elements (for variant B only), batik design elements, or some combination of the above.
The design elements should not be overpowering.

We have 4 styles of container which means 4 sets of different illustrator file dimensions:

Dimensions: 425.2 x 368.5 points (15.01cm x 13cm)
Product: Body Wash (A & B variants)

Container #2

Dimensions: 708.66 x 19.84 points (25cm x 0.7cm)
Product: Body Butter (A & B variants)

Container #3

Dimensions: 614.3 x 155.9 points (21.67cm x 5.5cm)
Product: Body Scrub (B variant only)
Product: Body Polish (A variant only)
Product: Creme (A & B variants)

Container #4

Dimensions: 269.29 x 263.73 points (9.5cm x 9.31cm)
Product: Body Oil (B variant only)

For container types #1 - #3, we require both "A" an "B" variants illustrator files.
For container type #4, we require the "B" variant illustrator files.

About Text elements;

You’re not restricted to using these fonts, but for your reference the fonts used in the attached mockup were: main balimama font: Banana Yeti, Product description and Variant name: Bodoni 72 Oldstyle, and description, ingredients, url etc font: Palatino.
