Logo Design Brief

I have an existing logo which is a slight adaptation of my family coat of arms (Robertson)
The COA is great, however when wanting to include on letter heads and van decals it can be difficult to read and doesn't say too much about the business.
Doesn't have to be A F Robertson Contracts, can just be A F Robertson. Needs to be clear as unfortunately my domain name reads 'afro bertson'....

Im after something fresh but looks like it has some heritage and not run of the mill - i don't want people to see it and forget it as it look like a lot of other builders logos with generic houses or building silhouette on it.
