Logo Design Brief

I need a strong and elegant logo for my premium athletic swimwear brand, which I plan to launch in 2017. I had a logo developed a few years ago, however have since refined the target market and brand persona and consequently this logo needs updating to fit with the new brand essence.

The mission of Natatio is to create the finest athletic swimwear in the world, marrying high performance with impeccable style. Natatio swimsuits are made with the finest quality fabrics and technical innovation and are made to empower women who swim.

Target Market(s)

Natatio is targeted to women aged 25-40, who are strong, fit and confident. The logo needs to encapsulate the brand essence of Natatio: strong, elegant, determined, authoritative, feminine. Brands with a similar feel to what I am aiming for include Varley, Michi, Rapha, Striders Edge and Sea Folly.

The target sales channels for this brand will be online and through premium department stores in the UK.

Requirements

Must have

• It must have a clean, strong, modern look - much more than the current logo. Black text, but potentially with options to display in a few other colours (suggested brand colour palette for use in marketing materials / website would be great).
• Must be a sans serif font, probably/possibly with capital letters, to create a stronger, more modern and cleaner image which lends well to printing on small garment labels.

Nice to have

• The existing logo has a line above and below the text to symbolise swimming lanes, but I'm not fixated on keeping this if omitting them would provide a cleaner look. I'd like ideas both ways.

Should not have

• Serif font.
