Logo Design Brief
Hand dyed natural fiber yarns and roving. We have been in business for about half a dozen years dying wool and doing fiber shows throughout the Midwest. Our main product is hand dyed yarn (used for knitting) with our secondary product being hand dyed roving (used with spinning wheels).
We have name recognition in these areas but are looking for a logo that would incorporate the name to add some visual recognition. We had thought of a simple ball of yarn followed by the name, with a strand of the yarn running under the name to the other side of the name where there would be a knitted swatch or sock with knitting needles attached, but are open to any and all suggestions.
We would love to have something that would work either "long" like across the top of a page, but able to be moved around slightly to make it more square (if that makes any sense).
As for colors if a ball of yarn is used in the design it should be multi colored (not solid) as our main lines are sock yarns which are normally more colorful, in that regard think primary colors. The most important thing is the inclusion of the name, as we are shooting for continued name recognition.
Target Market(s)
The target market is mainly upscale knitters and spinners that normally use natural fibers.
