Logo Design Brief

My name is Lauren Dolan. I am running for judge against an incumbent judge in a local election. Name recognition is everything here and I would like "DOLAN" to be very noticeable. This logo will be used on T-shirts, yard signs and the literature I hand out to voters. There are so many elections this year that my image will need to compete for attention with all the other candidates' materials. It needs to be easily recognized to people driving by.
I would like the image to be two colors, one of them white. For the other, I am strongly considering navy. Possibly another shade of blue. But I am also open to brick red or scarlet red, if that makes more sense design-wise.
At this point, I am not sure if it would be better if the image says "Lauren Dolan for Judge" or "Dolan for Judge." (If "Lauren" is included, please make it in a much smaller font than "DOLAN".)
I may prefer something a little more modern that still conveys class, wisdom and other "judicial" qualities without being so boring that it gets lost in the sea of other campaigns. Feel free to experiment with playful, personable, or alternatively, conservative or professional designs.
