Logo Design Brief

Vincent Mivelaz Photography & Co:
I am a Swiss Lausanne-based amateur photographer aiming to bring a different angle of our world throughout my lens. Works and projects include #travel & #landscape, #sport & #equine, #shooting & #portrait, #event & #behind-the-scenes photography. My French business partner Anne Burgues, horse-aficionado and marketer, is responsible for business development, digital strategy & web development, community management, financials etc. Our motto is: [picture yourself from a different angle].

In 2015, we spent most of our time on equine-related projects; in 2016, our ambition is to grow in other type of Sports, like ice hockey & tennis, as well as in the areas of Live Show & Landscape. Corporate studio & event areas are meant to remain anecdotic for the moment. Following areas are NOT relevant for Vincent Mivelaz & Co: Wedding, Baby, Journalistic.

At the moment, core of our business is photography embedded by me (Vincent Mivelaz); by 2017, we would like to further extend with services on web design & digital strategy via Anne skills, encapsulated in the “& Co” of our company name we have just added.

Objectives:
Our wish would be to have a logo designed for our company Vincent Mivelaz Photography & Co.

Logo is intended to be used on all company visual assets: website, profile pictures for social medi (Facebook, Flickr, Instagram) advertising print, business cards. Ideally, logo should also be used as a watermark on the photos to keep full consistency (same version as for the business stationary or in an adapted version of it).

Look & Feel: Modern - Upmarket - Elegant - Serious - Creative - Light hearted // NOT Funky - Playful – Conservative - Far fetched - Over complicated - Over the top

Considerations:
• Name:
o “Vincent Mivelaz” must be included in the logo as such; a shorter version of it is “#vmivelaz” we’d also would like to be explored instead of “Vincent Mivelaz”.
o Photography & Co must be included in the logo as such.
o No specifics on the font usage or capital/lower case – free to adapt to the design proposition
• Colors:
o Logo should work on dark or light background (it is ok to have a positive version of the logo for dark background, and a negative one for light).
o At first look, we do not envision the use of multiple colors to keep a certain sobriety and elegance, and rather envision a black/grey logo with potentially an accent of color but not more. Happy be challenged on that point if needed!
• Design cues:
o Unless incorporated in a creative way, we are not interested in incorporating traditional photographic design cues like cameras, lenses and aperture blades.
o The hashtag symbol is often used in our communication and can be explored (NOT a must, just a creative starter). Similarly, we often used brackets [xxx] in our communications and it can be another route to explore.
• Logo should fit well when used with our slogan picture yourself from a different angle.
• Files needed: high res files .eps, .ai, .pdf, .png, .jpeg formats
