Logo Design Brief
Goal:
For my (future) (professional) activities in software architecture, (web)-application development, consulting and teaching, I am looking for a logo that I can identify with professionally. A "flag" to work under, so to say.
Since this is a logo that has to make a "click" with me, the winning logo does not have to adhere to all preferences. They are just there to give you as much of an idea of my likes as I can.
Style:
I am really liking a sophisticated red on deep black lately, like the colors in the 'Mad Catz' logo, but am open to other colors, like the black&blue in the 'backbone.js' logo. A sophisticated orange is also very much an option, as that is my nationalities' color. An example of that would be the colors in the "Harley Davidson" logo.
I would like a logo that is an identity in itself, not a generic object that would be meaningless without the name 'Wolerized', 'Remi Woler' or 'RW' next to it.
I prefer a logo that fits in a fairly squarish space. I prefer a clean, futuristic logo.
I am definitely open to, and I even suspect the winner lies in, having the names 'Wolerized', 'Remi Woler' or 'RW' be a part of the logo.
Usage:
This logo will be used in all (digital) communications, including the website, business cards and stationary (but I only need the logo designed).
Target audience:
Peers and other IT professionals
Inspiration associations (professional):
Innovation. Efficiency. Professionalism. Solution providing. Tidy. Software architecture (planning/designing how software applications work internally, describing the componens and linking them together, like the blueprint of a building). Knowledge transfer. Open (think open source, open knowledge, etc)
Inspiration associations (personal):
Male, 30, dutch (hence the orange), professional software developer (PHP) for 12 years. Energetic. Desire to help. Sportive (in-line speed skating). Adrenaline from speed. Passionate. Problem-solving/solution-provider. Professional. Sophisticated. Weird liking of logo's of a raging bull, like in the 'Red Bull' and 'Lamborghini' logo.
Finally:
Of course I'm not looking for all inspiration keywords in the logo, they are just associations I can think of, pretty much in most-to-least associated order.
I tried my best to give you something to work with, but feel free to ask any questions, as this is only my first attempt ever at writing a brief. I understand this is all quite vague, but according to the people who referred me to here, you people can do magic with some "thinking out loud", so I'm fairly hopeful to get a logo I get excited about.
