What do you prefer: a logo that is incorporating shapes, like coffee mug, coffee machine, or a logo that is based on your company name?

We've put it to a vote and we like a combination of the two, but lean more toward a logo that is incorporating shapes. Something that isn't just copied and pasted together, has to stand out, very few colours. Would like to see more designs with choices with a black or white background.
