Logo Design Brief
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The logo will be used for the establishment of a new budget hostel. It will only be a small establishment with a 'homey' feeling slash laid-back atmosphere consisting of a few private rooms and a couple of dorms. The hostel doesn't exactly have any specific theme and will kind of look all over the place.
The logo text will be 'Oyasumi'. It means 'night' in Japanese.
OTHER
My business partner seems to have a different view on what the logo would look like... And she has the most say in making the final decision. She prefers a 'cute' logo.

We thought that we found what we wanted by the first day but great designs kept coming in even at the very last minute. Picking the winning design is now a nightmare for us to a point that we wondered if it is possible to open a hostel bearing multiple logos. Currently, we're doing a small survey on random people to pick out which designs draws them in more and we're getting mixed results making this task even more challenging. T^T
I'm sorry we can't give feedback for all of you but we appreciate the effort in every design that came in. We plan to pick a winner by Monday (24/6). At the same time, we also decided to give out participation payments to a few designers who submitted something we wished we could use but did not use.

- We're trying to avoid using a long-ass rectangular signboard so it would be nice if the logo could fit into a square.
We love the Japanese culture so it will be awesome if you could make a reference to that. How? We're not sure. Although our dorms will more or less follow the 'capsule hotel' concept with a twist. We uploaded a file picture of other establishments which inspired us to open one of our own to give you some idea on what kind of hostel we will look like.
It will be great if people can figure out from the logo that its a hostel too since we're not putting the word 'hostel' on the logo and the logo text itself doesn't mean much anyway.
