Dear Project Owner,
Thank you for inviting me to design your logo. I am very happy to do a logo, but before I get started I need some more information from you about your needs so I can do something that meets your brief requirements better. Often the case logos that get chosen may be nice, but don't reflect what your companies core values are and need to be redesigned quickly. In any case I hope by answering these questions we can avoid that and I can be the designer you chose for a logo monogram as opposed to someone else. I very much understand you want a logo that reflects a hipster format, however nowadays lots of designers have hundreds of pre made samples of these types of logos you've mentioned, where the type is sort of just plugged in and changed from the original logo. I can also imagine you've been bombarded by a lot of the same stuff, which to be honest a lot designers don't want to tell you they do. Mainly cause they just want to get paid. I want to make you something original if I am to make it I need you to answer these questions because I don't do cut rate work. I hope I can help you.
1- Why do you want a new logo? (if they already have one) What do you want your new logo to accomplish?
2- Who are your main competitors?
(This gives me a better feel for how to make you stand out.)
3- How are you different from your competitors?
4- What’s the age range of your target customer base?
(This helps create an overall feel that fits for the target group.)
Project-related questions
5- Do you have a tag line? If so, would you like it stated along side your logo?
6- Do you have any specific imagery in mind for your logo?
7- Do you have any image ideas that you don't want to see?
8- What adjectives should best describe your logo?
(The scale you used is helpful but sometimes doesn't reflect your company core values.)
9- What feeling or message do you want your logo to convey to those who view it?
( This is often overlooked but very important.)
10 - How do you prefer your logo to be worded or written out?
Example: thedesigncubicle or the design cubicle
Thank you for your time. I apologize if this is time consuming, please understand that this important so the logo is not designed arbitrarily. I hope we can work together on this and I do hope my logo reflects more than what your looking for.
