Requirements
Must have
- The new logo will be used in a software product. To fit nicely, it must be wider than it is tall (like a widescreen TV, or wider).
The logo must also be suitable for use in all media, including website, business cards, brochures, letterhead, report page headers and so on.
The logo must look OK if it is printed in black & white.
Nice to have
- Include a cloud. As a Salesforce.com affiliate, we're permitted to use Salesforce.com imagery. Our products and services will be built using Salesforce.com technology, and delivered in the cloud. A visual reference to the Salesforce.com style would be nice. For examples of the general style, see: http://www.salesforce.com/au/cloudcomputing/
Include a soaring glider (sailplane). I’ve got a personal preference towards T-tail models. For example, see: http://www.openclipart.org/detail/26677/glider-by-pssoar
Include the name “Glider Systems” in the logo. Use a typeface that is either (a) simple, clear & plain, as might appear on a plane’s instrument panel, or (b) associated with aviation (maybe like the typeface used by the Breitling watch brand).
Use blue as the main colour (like the sky, and like Salesforce.com).
A simple design is preferred. Consider silhouettes, outlines, brush-strokes, etc.
