Logo Design Brief

Develop several options for creating an adaptation of the current Fred Finch Youth Center logo (attached file) for celebration of the organization’s 125th anniversary (Sept 2015-August 2016)

• Established as an orphanage in 1891 by Duncan and Eunice C. Finch, Fred Finch Youth Center was founded on the principle that no one–regardless of their background, financial status, or personal challenges–should be neglected or forgotten.
• From 1891 to the 1950s, Finch Youth Center began serving adolescents who were, at the time, considered “incorrigible.” Mental health treatment services were added to meet the needs of these young people. Foster youth were experiencing higher rates of poverty, joblessness, substance use, addiction, developmental disabilities, and emotional impairments than the general population.
• In the late 1960s, Fred Finch Youth Center opened a residential treatment facility for youngsters who required more intensive services including behavioral interventions, healing from childhood trauma, and care for those with both mental and developmental disorders. Since the 1970s, we have specialized in serving the youth who require unique services not available from other agencies.
• Today, FFYC offers a culturally competent, evidence-based approach to services founded in modern best practices, with a commitment to positive outcomes.

Creative Design Objectives:
Create an appealing, relevant and memorable logo that makes all constituents (individuals and families being served, funders, donors, employees, etc.) aware of, and invested in, the organization for years to come.

Design Considerations
The existing framework/structure of the current logo can remain intact (house with a roof, with the words Fred Finch Youth Center incorporated--under the house or wherever, to create balance.) It is also okay to add other elements to the logo, to show “125 year anniversary.”

Incorporating the 125th Anniversary
• Somehow show 125 years or 125th Celebration or 125th Anniversary
• Color palette should reflect colors in current website and annual reports:
